the Year honors in the NHC in 2007. Previous to coaching at SJJ,
Mike served as a coach in the SMAHL travel program for four years.
His teams experienced a lot of success over those four seasons
including a Little Caesar’s championship and a Regional Silver
Sticks title. He also led a Bantam A travel team (7th and 8th

the last six years.
Mike is a graduate

played three years of varsity hockey and was captain of Whitmer’s
83-84 State Runner- up team that went 29-2-1 that season. Mike was
also an All-State baseball player at Whitmer and is in Whitmer’s
Athletic Hall of Fame. He played college baseball at the University
of Toledo. He received his bachelor’s degree in Communications.
“Hockey is a
passion to me. Growing up, hockey helped forge several lifelong
friendships, experiences and great memories. Being the coach at SJJ,
I want to help the players that play here get that same
opportunity. That, and win a state championship every year!”
This past year has
been a busy year for Mike. This past fall he married his lovely
wife Rita. This past summer, they welcomed their first daughter,
Mia into the world. |
