Mike served as a coach in the SMAHL travel program for four years.
His teams experienced a lot of success over those four seasons
including a Little Caesar’s championship and a Regional Silver
Sticks title. He also led a Bantam A travel team (7th and 8th
graders) to a victory over Anthony Wayne’s Varsity team in 2003. He
is still heavily involved in USA Hockey. He has served as both a

the last six years.

Whitmer’s Athletic Hall of Fame. He played college baseball at the
University of Toledo. He received his bachelor’s degree in
Communications.
“Hockey is a
passion to me. Growing up, hockey helped forge several lifelong
friendships, experiences and great memories. Being the coach at SJJ,
I want to help the players that play here get that same
opportunity. That, and win a state championship every year!”
This past year
has been a busy year for Mike. This past fall he married his lovely
wife Rita. This past summer, they welcomed their first daughter,
Mia into the world. |
