Titans Split in Conference - Stay Tied For First

The Varsity Titans split their two conference games and moved to 6-1-1. The 13 pts keeps SJJ tied for first with St. Francis who is 6-0-1.

Friday night SJJ played their archrival St. Francis who came into the game unbeaten in the conference and only one loss for the year. The game, as usual, lived up to the hype. The Varsity Titans played well and gave everything St. Francis could handle for three evenly played periods. A late penalty in regulation cost the Titans as they gave up a power play goal in overtime to lose 4-3. George Wilkinson, Andrew Garzony and Kyle Knox all scored for the Titans and Mike Brahaney was sharp in goal.

In the Saturday contest, the Titans took on Bowling Green on Senior Night. SJJ was solid for the second straight night although BG’s goalie was equally solid. A last minute open net goal gave SJJ a 2-0 victory. Andrew Garzony scored again as did Eric Brown and Michael Brahaney recorded his second shutout of the year. The victory moved the Varsity icers to 16-7-3 for the season.
